Unlike the US, Ireland does not allow genetically modified (GM) soy products, so I'd go for the tofu. However, tofu often has sugar, fructose, or aspartame (an excitotoxin) added to it. You should be cautious about what is added to it. It's possible to purchase a kit to make your own tofu, however, it's best to eat a variety of beans, from dried beans, to help assure that you meet all your protein building block requirements. Along with the beans, you need to eat brown rice or a another whole grain.

Dried beans and rice and whole grains should be available at many grocery stores. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Eat some smaller quantity of avocado, olives, nuts or other sources of oil. You need some oil, but don't over do it. Drink lots of water and avoid commercial drinks and juices. If you must have juice, squeeze it yourself. It's better to eat the fruit with all it's fiber. Processors eliminate some health benefits through pasteurization, removing fiber, and adding colorings and preservatives to extend shelf life.

Avoid nearly all commercial convenience and packaged foods. They often contain colorings, additives, flavorings, and other inert substances, some of which you may have an allergy to.

The best diet comes from a wide variety of whole foods. If the package has more than a half dozen ingredients or if it is processed, it's not healthy for you. Don't look to corporations and convenience foods for a healthy diet.

This is a good vegetarian restaurant in Dublin and I bet they'd be able to point you to a store with lots of vegan products. Or try the largest health food store you can find.

Good luck!
