As I was driving to a pal’s house lately, I passed the Dublin Boozer , a local watering hole famous for its live music. “The great and excellent masterwork of man is to know the way to live to purpose. We are intended to use our brains to consider and to understand the difficulty of the universe. Basically , something is good if it satisfies a certain expectancy we’ve of itit hits the target. A “good cup of coffee” could be robust, weak, sour, sweet, milky, black, or free, depending on what you put a value on and what you need from your cuppa. But are there certain qualities that make a life good? “Goodness is simpler to recognize than to define. Aristotle assumed that we need to use bravery, truth and moderation in chasing pleasure. For him, moral goodness and delight in life were a similar thing. On the reader board, one band’s name grabbed my attention : Spontaneous Woo. What makes us woo tells us a heap about what we worth, and what we worth is all that’s “good”. Auden, claimed : “Goodness is better to recognize than to outline. This is where your private philosophy comes in. Notice that your ideas of what makes a life “good” come from the folks you know, the books you have read, the pictures you have seen, and a host of influences you will not remember right now. We will be able to possibly agree that having 5 big-screen Televisions with 150 channels is a little too much. Many of us have the good fortune ( ? ) of not being nearly convinced to live without boundaries. Still, there are some steps along the way to excess, and we are continually presented with selections.
