Summer is the best. St Patty’s is a good time. The cheapest airfare is in the winter. It never gets too cold there anytime of year, but I prefer the 60 degree summers over the 40 degree winters.

There is obviously a lot happening around St. Pat’s day, but when I went there in 2005 it was cold with snow squalls. When I visited in June of 2000 the weather was beautiful…75-80 degrees. The weather generally ***** in Ireland, but that could be why such a good time is had inside the pubs. Good luck! Ireland is beautiful.

I have lived in the UK all my life (29yrs) and it is supposed to be hottest here in June, July and August, but the weather is extremely unpredictable and it can rain or anything on any given day. I would say you have the most chance of sun at the end of July, beginning of August, but really it is anyone’s guess what the weather will actually be doing. It rained all summer in 2007. Obviously it will definitely be warmer overall in the summer months, as opposed to the winter months of Nov, Dec, Jan and Feb, but that doesn’t mean it will actually be pleasant outside, sorry!
St Paddy’s Day was on 17th March so you have missed it. The temp in Ireland on 17 March 2009 ranged from 13.5 to 17.3 degrees Celsius depending on your location.

I liked the Summer time, as for Paddy’s Day its kinda Cold on O’Connell St. Where the Parades takes place, but with all that Irish Warmth, and a few Guinness down Yuh!, it will feel like Summertime in March. And if that’s you in the Avatar, I’ll Escort you and that Cheyenne Princess Face all over that Heavenly Country no Sweat. {No I’m not Irish}, but I could Pretend if you Wish,….Smile, Princess Sealove!,…. Hey that has a Nice Ring to it doesn’t it now?.

When the weather is nice …. well, that could be any time of the year, dear.
Paddy’s Day, you could have anything. Irish weather is notoriously unpredictable. Last Paddy’s Day was lovely, but there have been some bad ones.
In Ireland, summer is more of a state of mind and something of a meteorlogical phenomenon.

November wouldn’t be the best of times in fairness. Can be very wet and cold but don’t let that stop you as most of the fun of being in Ireland happens indoors in the pubs.
For me, best time of year is late July/early August in Galway, where there are a number of festivals which draw huge crowds to the city. Well worth a look.

May and September are the best months. Weather is good and not too many people so better hotel deals etc
