As part of a longer trip, I’m traveling to Ireland for 2 nights next summer with my family….We’re planning on spending one night in Dublin. After we get the night in the city out of the way–I’d like to spend a night in an area with great sights/things to do……but with less of a big city feel
–maybe outdoors…castles, old structures?, a few good pubs is a must!!

I’d recommend Galway or Kilkenny, both beautiful and old. Kilkenny in particular has a beautiful castle with big grounds to explore. And both places have plenty of pubs to explore, as will almost any town in Ireland, so don’t worry!
