If you fly into Shannon Airport you are right in the heart of County Clare. Beautiful county a lot to see. You can get to Dublin by way of Limerick it actually takes about 2 hours. Or take the train from Limerick to Dublin. You take the Ennis road to Limerick when you pass the second round a bout you take the road into Limerick and make a right on the first light and you will be on the Dublin Road. Follow it out all the way to Dublin. The train is nicer because you can see the countryside. There is also a daily run to Dublin leaving from the Shannon Airport also. Continue through the city centre and a right turn over the Shannon in the City Centre. Instead of going through Limerick, you have the much more scenic option to turn off the N7 just before Birdhill (Limerick) for Killaloe/Ballina through Tulla, taking you out on the good side of Ennis to get on the Lahinch Road to Ennistymon.
