you really need to give more information about yourself to answer such a question.

Dublin is alot smaller than London, but like London you dont
have to just stay in the city center.
    Airport is on northside though.

Best bet is get bus into city center buy a crate of bulmers cider
and drink on the Liffey for 15 hours.

For a guy on his own, just passing through for one evening, I would head down to the Temple Bar area of the city. It’s where all the pubs and clubs and bistros are. Similar to West End in London or Golden Mile in Edinburgh.
Get a taxi in and home, ’cause you don’t want to get lost late at night.
Expect to spend at least €100, as prices are on a par to London.
It’s very easy to strike up a conversation with everybody, so you won’t feel alone there.
Wednesday night may be a bit slow there, particularly since we had a bank holiday weekend just gone, but there are still tourists about.
Warning… be very aware of pickpockets and don’t act silly.

Great City – just came back after spending last weekend there. But for 15 hours I guess perhaps do a tour of the city, hop on hop off buses which gives you a tour of the city. Loads of shopping O’connell st, Temple Bar is lively at night but its a tourist trap and expect to pay 5 euro for a drink which is almost £5 a drink. Dublin is not cheap but if you live in London, just think Central London prices and you will be ok.
