Dublin – The World’s Greatest City !!
miamiukitt3n asked:

My fiance and I want to take our honeymoon in Dublin, Ireland and we were wondering what time of year is best to go. We have a choice between having the wedding in May or August and Ireland has a reputation for being cold and rainy!

Dublin is great city irrespective of the weather. My advice is to go in fall, at least then you know it will be cold and rainy! May would be nice too, with the daffodils and flowers just coming into bloom.

Well, you just can’t depend on the weather here. But I think a May wedding would be lovely. This May we had it alright. We had a good couple of days mixed withbad days. I’d pick May over August.

    Good luck!

August will be warmer and less rainy than may…it will also be busier and you can be sure that anything you may be interested in visiting will be open…saying that, dublin is good anytime of the year, though whenever I go there on Bank/Public Holiday weekends its never as busy as I expect..

May tends to be wet and a little chilly, however there’s plenty to do indoors.

Well, Ireland rains like all the time so no matter what season you come here, there will be rain. But I suggest Autumn, because in the summer, Dublin will a mosh-pit of tourists and will be hectic with every Dubliner doing there Summer shopping. So August would be better for you!
Enjoy the honeymoon! And congrats on the future wedding!!! Hope ya have a lifetime of happiness!!!

The temperate climate in Dublin makes it a good city to visit any time of the year. It never really gets too cold, rarely reaches freezing point.
The Temple Bar area of the city is really lovely. Great hotels, pubs, restaurants. It is also very close to Grafton Street (shopping), Trinity College, St Stephens Green.
Temple Bar is within walking distance of most tourist attractions in Dublin City. You will not be disappointed.
