My wife’s birthday falls on a Wednesday while we are on a vacation in Ireland. Our itinerary has us in Dublin that day, there will be four of us total. Any recommendations on a good dinner? Above pub food, but not as fancy as Michelin 3 star.

Michelin 3 star in Dublin? That’s pretty funny.
If you want a touristy experience, you can go to Johnny Fox’s. It’s off the beaten path (about a 25 EUR taxi ride from City Centre). They have traditional Irish dancing and a more rowdy atmosphere. It has bench seating, so you’re sure to meet other tourists as well.
Shanahan’s on the Green (next to Stephen’s Green in City Centre) is a pretty good choice. It’s more on the expensive side (around 90 EUR per person with wine), but you can get a good steak there.
I really like Monty’s of Kathmandu in Temple Bar. It’s a nice Nepalese restaurant with great food and nice atmosphere. If you’re only in town for one or two nights, you probably don’t want to waste one of them eating non-local food though.
It’s probably best to stay in City Centre so you can hit a few pubs or bars for drinks afterwards. Temple Bar would be the cliche place to hit.
