I was wondering what could be a cool way to honour their heritage there in a baby name? Anything you can think of other than giving just a nice Irish name?

Lairne (lair-n) taken from just dropping the Cil in front of Cill Airne.

I wikipedia-ed Killarney; here are some suggestions, though I’m an American and unsure of some of the pronunciations:
-Leane (Killarney is on the northeast shore of the Loch Lein/Leane; this would then be based on the place name.)
-Ross (there’s a castle called Ross Castle there.)
-Dunloe (not sure about this as a name, but this is the name of Gap/mountain pass located near Killarney.)
-Patrich: (The song There’s only one Killarney was recorded by Patrich O’Hagan.)
-Aghadoe (a townland overlooking Killarney; I definitely think this would be better as a middle.)
-Eileen (Eileen Sheehan, a poet from Killarney. There are several other people listed as from Killarney on wikipedia.)
You could also try Cilla for a girl (Cill + A from Airne) and the male name Arne (Norwegian, I believe. I’m not certain how Airne is pronounced…)
